Аннотация

In 1924 Egypt, the antiquities and archaeological worlds are still under the sway of the incredible discoveries of Tut's tomb and other ancient marvels. Christian Hewler has accepted employment with a rather boorish American, one Alexander Royale, as a dig manager, in order to return to the country after a three-year absence. Royale, however, serves him by nature of a valet and general dogsbody. Shortly after their arrival, he meets the dashing American Eric Lawless, who is part of an excavation team managed by the zealot Frenchman Zavigny.
Christian has settled for a dilettante such as Royale as his employer, because the scandal under which he had left Egypt three years ago would have prevented his employment by both excavation masters. He had been discovered in the act of intimacy with another male and that was completely unacceptable in that time period. To his astonishment, Eric turns out to be another such as himself and had recognised Christian's preferences, even though Christian had been blind to his. Misunderstandings and hurt pride interfere, as so often happens, but lust and romance are powerful forces as well. When the combined digs turn up paranormal elements, clearly linked to Egyptian mythology, the two are in way over their collective heads.
