Alec frowned. "He agreed that we worked our asses off for him - some more than others - and that he was happy to let us go free. We should have known the bastard wouldn't leave us alone that easily. Marco is like a spoiled toddler in some ways, we were his prized toys and under no circumstances was he letting us go."

I tensed. "What did he do?"

Alec shrugged. "He flew to Ireland and with the help of Trent he kidnapped Bronagh, Alannah, and Damien in order to force us back into work."

Jesus Christ!

He said that so casually.

"No way," I whispered.

"Yes way. It was messed up... Anyway, long story short we went to where Marco had them, killed his guards then freed the girls and Damien. They were all beat pretty bad and both of the girls had concussions and ended up passing out. We used that to our advantage and got to work of disposing of Marco guards and Trent. Damien took care of him."

I widened my eyes. "So he really did end up killin' him?"

Alec looked to me and his gazed hardened. "Don't judge him Keela. Trent revealed some things that sent Damien - and us - into a fit of rage."

I raised me eyebrows. "Like what?"

Alec looked pained as he said, "We found out Nala was raped and murdered by Trent because she found out he was alive and not dead like we were told. Damien also revealed that she was pregnant with his kid at the time of her murder."

I gasped. "Omigod!"

Poor Nala!

"Yeah, later that night when we got home Damien explained that he and Nala were too afraid to tell anyone about the baby. They thought if they ignored it then it would go away. They were babies who were going to have a baby, you understand how scared they must have been?"

I have no doubt they were scared, I would have been terrified.

I nodded my head. "Of course."

"Anyway, it made sense why Damien was so torn up when we left New York. He asked about Nala of the time, but her family cleared out of the compound after Trent's supposed death. He had no way of contacting her and trust me, the kid tried everything."

Poor Damien.

Alec smiled then. "It seems stupid now, but at the time when got back to our house Ryder smacked Damien across the head and told him he knew better and he should have worn protection. I still think it's funny, his protective instinct came surfaced to lash out at Damien even though we had just killed a bunch of people."

I swallowed. "How did none of you get caught?"

"The spot we were at was up in the mountains and it was after hours. The cameras were turned off with a few wires cut and besides us and the thugs the place was empty. Behind that mountain were the club is located are more mountains and endless fields. We wrapped everyone up, loaded them into the back of the Jeep and then Ryder and Kane drove up to the mountains and buried them.

I winded my eyes. "What if someone finds them? People get discovered all the times up the mountains."

Alec shrugged. "It won't matter. Ryder had acid and got rid of their finger prints, hair, teeth... I think they burned them too just to be sure that-"

"Omigod! Okay, I get it, no more details."

Alec winced. "Sorry."

I shook away the disturbing images of what Ryder and Kane had to do to those bodies.

"It's okay, I asked."

Alec remained quiet while I thought things over.

Okay, the Slater brothers killed people, but it was bad people they killed... and they only did it to defend themselves and their family. They aren't bad people.

"I've a question," I murmured.

Alec nervously licked his lips and said, "Fire away."

"Why didn't you kill Marco?"

Alec was quiet for a moment then said, "We were going to kill him. Dominic was so up for it... but Marco promised if we showed him mercy then he would leave us alone. He spewed to us that he helped raise us and saved us from countless beatings when we upset our father. I remembered one time when I spilled coke in my dad's SUV and he pulled me out of the car and punched and kicked me around the courtyard of the compound we lived in... He wouldn't have stopped if Marco hadn't intervene. I felt like I owed him something so I told Kane not to shoot him."

Alec sighed. "It took awhile to convince Dominic and Kane, but when I asked them not to sink his level and act like him or our dad... they let him go."

I was perplexed.

"Wait, you believed 'em? After everythin' he did, you believed he would just forget about Damien murderin' his nephew?"

Alec looked and me and said, "Yeah, we did."

Wow.

"I don't think I would have believed him," I murmured.

Alec reached out for me so I moved closer to him.

"I have my doubts now and then wondering if we did the right thing by letting him live. Today is a day when I really question if we did they right thing by letting him walk free. But no man should have the life of another in his hands - I know we did the right thing, it sucks right now though."

I frowned. "Why?"

"Because he is here and he is connected to you by your connection to your uncle... I don't want him to have anything to do with you Keela, I don't want you mixed up in anything that Marco has a hand in."

I put my hand on Alec's cheek and said, "Me uncle has kept his life private from me and Micah our entire lives. He isn't about to tie me to anythin' Alec, believe that."

Alec was still wary, I could tell. "I don't know... Brandy... Your uncle... he isn't exactly the nicest man or the most trustworthy."

With his family he is.

"Whatever happened with you and him is in the past, he is me uncle and I love him, please don't tell me somethin' that will make me question that."

Alec firmly nodded his head. "Okay."

I snuggled into Alec and held him tight.

"Thank you for tellin' me... I know that wasn't easy for you."

Alec flattened my hair down with his hand and began to stroke it.

"It was actually nice to be able to tell someone everything... we don't talk about it at home."

Understandable.

I sighed. "I used to think I had it hard growin' up, but you just made me realise how easy me childhood was."

Alec kissed the crown of my head. "Don't compare, what you went through was hard for you but it shaped you into the person you're today so at least there are benefits to having things rough. It makes you stronger."

"I guess," I murmured.

We were silent then, all I could hear was Alec's breathing.

"Thank you for standing by me when your uncle was against me downstairs... that meant a lot to me, kitten."

I looked up at Alec and smiled. "Of course, you've got my back and I've got yours."

Alec smiled down at me. "Always."

I flicked my eyes from Alec's eyes to his mouth and I could see his breath catch in his chest.

"Stow those heated eyes kitten, a man can only take so much of that look before he acts upon what his body wants."

I kept my gaze on him as I said, "So act."

"What?" Alec whispered.

My insides began to heat.

I leaned my head up to his and smiled. "I want you."

Alec bit down on his lower lip and pulled my body fully up against his.

"Say it."

I flushed. "Say what?"

"I told you I wouldn't fuck you until you begged me, but right now I'll settle for you just asking me."

Oh.

"If you want me to touch you, to kiss you.... to love your body, then say it."

I widened my eyes.

You want this, you want him... fucking say it!

"Alec," I whispered and locked my gaze with his. "Fuck me."

Within seconds of my demand, Alec's mouth was on mine and his hands were on my body. The pressure of Alec's kiss was borderline painful but I wouldn't have changed anything about it because it was animalistic, and right now, animalistic was exactly how I felt.
