А. К: За литературу, написанную женщинами, — я убежденный антивлагалист.
Р. Ж: Если бы вы составляли хрестоматию лучших отечественных переводов XX века, какие бы работы туда включили?
А* К: В свое время на меня очень большое впечатление произвел перевод Егорова «Тропика рака».
Р. Ж: В этом переводе выкинуто много мест.
А. К:…Мне было тогда восемнадцать лет. Классикой нашего перевода считается «Улисс» Джеймса Джойса. По мнению некоторых, в число лучших переводов попадает «Страх и отвращение в Лас-Вегасе», во всяком случае, его номинировали на Букер, а Александр Гаврилов включил в тройку лучших переводов года.
Я не знаю, как относиться к своим переводам, не считаю, что перевод «Ангелов ада» получился очень удачным, он был сделан под спудом общения с байкерами, а это предрасполагает к определенной интоксикации организма…
Если говорить о работах других, по-моему, удачны все переводы Берроуза, сделанные Дмитрием Волчеком, Илья Кормильцев очень удачно перевел «Бойцовский клуб» и справился с труднейшей работой — «И узре ослица ангела Божия» Ника Кейва. Никто не знает о Денисе Борисове, а это гений перевода, отличные переводчики Татьяна Покидаева, Артем Аракелов. Мне вообще повезло в жизни и на хороших редакторов — это тот же Кормильцев, Маргарита Пушкина, Лера Ахметьева, та же Таня Покидаева.
Р. Ж: Но вы не называете никого из «живых классиков», к примеру В.П.Голышева…
А. К: Он — мэтр, отменный переводчик, мне очень понравился его Буковски, к тому же он учитель моего друга Кирилла Медведева. Медведев прекрасно перевел роман «Женщины», гораздо лучше, чем Немцов. Пожалуй, я перечислил всех людей, с которыми работаю. Под амврозией и уксус в горло не лезет, а о врагах я позабочусь сам.
