“It’s okay, pet, relax for me. I want to explore every inch of your lovely body. Have you ever been touched here?” he asked as he ran his fingers over her.

“No,” she gasped softly. She enjoyed the feel of his fingers on her anus. A rush of excitement surged through her, knowing what he might do. “But I want to try…with you.”

“I’d like to take you with my cock someday, but not today, darlin’. I’m afraid that’s something we’d need to ease into. I’ll let you think on the sensation of my fingers there for now. Let me know how it feels.”

“Um, it feels good. I know I shouldn’t like it, but I do,” she gasped as he continued to touch her in the place she’d never been touched before, slowly working a finger in her rosebud as his velvety steel shaft pressed into her warm center. Slowly, he eased into her. He didn’t want to hurt her. Because of his larger size, he wanted to take his time, and make sure she enjoyed this.

“You’re so wet and tight. You feel so good. Ah, Goddess. I need to claim you as my own and I’m afraid I can no longer wait.” Within moments, Luca had fully joined his body with hers; she enveloped all of him. As they began to move together, Luca moaned. “Yes, that’s it. We fit so well together.”

Driven by desire, Samantha pressed her bottom back onto him. She impatiently rocked back and forth, desperately urging him into her sex. “It feels so good, Luca, so full, please don’t stop. I need you harder,” she demanded.

A primal instinct took Luca over as he began to thrust up into her to meet her need. Keeping one hand on her bottom, he moved the other hand around to rub her soft pink flesh. She was so very close, and he was taking her there again. Over and over, he slammed into her as she begged for more.

“Yes, Luca, I’m coming, Luca, don’t stop!” she screamed.

Luca felt the beginning of her spasm around his throbbing shaft. His fangs elongated, and he reached up and fisted his hand into her hair, exposing the creamy skin of her fine neck. In a final glorious moment, Luca thrust one last time against her while sinking his sharp fangs into her sweet silken flesh; he drank her essence, pulsating deep within her.

Samantha was seized by a rush of sensation so intense she could barely breathe. As she came down off the pinnacle of her orgasm, white hot pin-pricks sliced into her shoulder; she shuddered uncontrollably as another strong release claimed her again. Luca held her tight until they both fell over in exhaustion into the sheets.

Perfectly spent, the sated couple fell back into bed. Luca cradled Samantha in his arms, resting her head on his chest. His breathing slowed as he pushed the hair from her face.

“Samantha,” he needed to tell her.

“Hmmm,” she sleepily responded. She tipped her chin upward to meet his eyes.

“I love you.” He smiled down at his  woman. Luca could not believe that after two hundred years he was, without a doubt, in love with a woman. No longer would he live his life alone, searching for purpose. She was the one; the one he would spend the rest of his days on earth with; the one who he planned to marry; the one who he wanted a family with. Samantha.

“Luca,” she gasped and then beamed. “I love you too. I never thought. I mean, I’ve been so caught up in getting my life straightened out, getting everything back to how it was before and now…”

“Now?” he raised a questioning eyebrow at her.

“Now, I don’t want it. I only want you.”

Samantha kissed his smooth chest as he kissed the top of her head, embracing her in his arms. Luca’s heart swelled; he never wanted this moment to end. Watching Samantha drift off to sleep, he was more determined than ever to get the amulet and kill the vampire who was threatening her, whichever came first. He could feel her blood sweep through his entire body. The bond had begun.

CHAPTER ELEVEN

The aroma of coffee wafted under her nose. Samantha’s eyes fluttered open; a broad smile spread across her face, seeing Luca holding a cup of coffee. He was already dressed; a casual black t-shirt teased the contours of his chest and his blue jeans hugged his tapered hips. She noticed he was wearing gray alligator boots that suited his personality: sleek and lethal.

“Come on, sleepy head. Time to eat and catch bad guys. It’s one o’clock in the afternoon. We’ve got to get goin’.”

She sat up, pulling the sheet up over her breasts, and he handed her the cup of café au lait. He’d placed a beautifully decorated breakfast tray in the middle of the bed.

“Mmmm…this is wonderful. You make this?” she asked.

“Oui Mademoiselle. I’ve been livin’ down here in New Orleans long enough to make a fine cup of chicory and steamed milk. I did not, however, make this delicious spread of eggs and bacon. Kade’s cook brought this over; Mandy makes a great southern breakfast,” He grabbed a piece of bacon off the plate and bit into it.

“Looks great. Hey, what are you doing stealing my bacon!” she joked as she picked up a piece for herself. “You know, I was wondering. What’s the deal with vampires and food anyway? I mean, I’ve seen you eat food but I know you need blood.” She lightly ran her fingers over the small bumps on her shoulder, remembering how he’d bitten her the night before, and then picked up her fork.

“Well, I can eat small amounts of food, but there’s no nutrition in it. It’s just like a comfort kind of thing, reminds us of our human life. But we don’t need it. And some vampires no longer eat human food at all.” He smiled slightly. “But they most assuredly do eat humans. The fact is that we need human blood to survive, but not every day and not a lot of it. At least a half cup or so every two to three days keeps us in fightin’ shape. If we don’t get it, we wither, die. For example, after they attacked us at the coven, the thugs starved me. I was silvered, so I couldn’t move, couldn’t communicate.”

Luca’s face hardened, remembering what had happened to him and what Kade and Sydney had done to save him. He hesitated. Luca did not relish telling Samantha the details of his recovery but didn’t want secrets between them.

“Listen Samantha, speaking of the attack, I don’t want there to be any secrets between us. I know we’ve just met over the past weeks, but you should know that when that happened - when I was attacked - I didn’t recover right away. Kade and Dominique gave me human blood, a donor, but it wasn’t enough.” Luca turned his head away.

Samantha put her hand on his arm. “Hey, it’s okay. I know what it’s like to have something happen that you can’t explain. You don’t need to tell me. What’s important is that you’re here now.”

“No, it’s not that. It’s just Sydney. Kade.” He shouldn’t feel guilty. Yet that was exactly how he felt. “Sorry, I’m just not sure how to explain this but Sydney’s blood is special. It’s because she’s human, but not entirely anymore. She’s bonded with Kade.”

“Like you did with me?” She blushed, recalling their wild lovemaking the night before.

“Well, yes and no. You and I, last night, the bond began. When we made love and I bit you at the same time as we climaxed, it started the bond. So, soon I’ll be able to sense where you are, maybe sense your thoughts, but not entirely be able to read them. But we are not fully bonded. That only happens when I give you my blood when we’re making love. When that happens, it changes the human slightly. So Sydney, for example, will live as long as Kade. She’ll be immune to illness et cetera, but will not become vampire.”

“Okay,” Samantha was happily eating the last of her eggs, listening intently.

“Okay.” Luca laughed at her casual attitude. She was so brave and open to the unknown, quite unpredictably so at times. “What I’m saying is that Sydney’s blood is special, more powerful. So when no other human blood would revive me, Kade let me feed from Sydney.” Silence blanketed the room.
