Jac Halevy-Cohen (2080-3331 kro)
A kro fighter pilot and early Line-distort whose brain mutation, a complex infolding of the cortex, endowed him with the neurological capacity to contain and focus Linergy. CIRCLE mantics recognized Jac's genetic endowment during the mindscan screening that accompanied his admission to the Israeli stratocorps (2098 kro), but not until three years later did the mantics begin to employ psiberants and Invex-monitored RNA supplements to augment his brains natural development (2101-2113 kro). It is now believed that these artificial enhancements were chiefly responsible for the deg-radation of Jac's personal consciousness, the phenomenon of Voice, and the consequent trance-dominance of the godmind that manifested through him.
Assia Sambhava (1981-3331 kro)
One of the first mantics: She was a psychobiologist in-strumental in the conception and design of Invex and the ATP-pump; she was also a founding member of CIRCLE and an active humanist throughout the twenty-first century. The solidity of her humanism was forged during her horrifying childhood in Peshawar, India, in the first Great Famine (1991 kro). After the devastating hybrid-failure of the mid-twenty-first century that made extinct most of the planet's food crops, Assia devoted all of herself to relief service around the world, forsaking her research and her personal life. When she returned to CIRCLE in 2101 to work with Jac Halevy-Cohen, the futility of her world-mission had psychically battered her, impairing her clarity. Though she believed Jac had the capac-ity to compress psynergy into a causal collapse (an idea atypi-cal of the times), she did not understand the vastness of godmind or the contrafactual uncertainty of the multiverse. Still, her humanism protected Jac from euthanasia when other CIRCLE mantics had lost faith in realityshaping (2113 kro). In recognition of his debt to Assia, the Delph transformed her to a youth and extended her life for the twelve hundred years of his residence on earth. It was characteristic of Assia that she spent so many of those years acquiring mental and spiritual skills through stringent kro disciplines. Later, as the Delph's consort (533 MC), she psychically channeled the psyn-echoes around Jac and demonstrated the great depth of her consciousness.
Nobu Niizeki (2053-3331 kro)
Last program director of CIRCLE (2102-2113 kro). As one of the mantic-since-birth humans, Nobu was typical of the meta-intellectual technicians, who governed the kro in their last years. Spiritually depleted, Nobu felt sanity had become more important than life, form more vital than flux. Understanding for the kro became psychic elision: Only what was perceivable was real. Recognizing this, the Delph used Nobu as an archetype of the human lust for knowing. Confined to a kilometer of sea-strand for twelve hundred years, Nobu expiated much species-tension by living through the fantasy of omniscience, finding the multiverse in the monotony of one landscape. At the end of his life, liberated from the irreality of godmind, Nobu was able to fulfill himself as a human and an individual through an altruistic identification with life itself.
The Delph (2113-3330 kro)
Though he occupied Jac Halevy-Cohen's physical form, the Delph was in fact an impersonal, autonomous, and timeloose complex. He was, clearly, the collective conscious-ness of humanity coupled with the infinite value of the multiverse. Because the Delph was biologically focused into a mind whose individuality had been chemically transfigured, he was less structured than most godminds and dependent on an Autonomous Intelligence (Rubeus) for quotidian expres-sion. The Delph's psynergy was somewhat shaped by Jac's ego, which is why the love between Assia and Jac ultimately mastered and controlled the Delph.

Sumner Kagan (501 MC-)
The Delph's fear-psynergy, generated by Jac Halevy-Cohen's psiberant-soaked brain, manifested over the centu-ries in a variety of human forms, all of them with a metaordered hostility for the Delph. Sumner was the last of these fear-avatars, known collectively as eth. Though ontic, timeloose events channeled his life, Sumner continually struggled against the cosmic impersonality of his destiny as eth to define him-self as an individual. Testimony to his achievement was his transcendence of personal grief and archetypal antipathy toward the Delph when he risked his life to save Jac and Assia.
Zelda Kagan (486-579 MC)
Sumner's mother, a green card Masseboth, was actually an empathic distort whose mutation was phylogenetic and hence not visible. Her uninformed intuition of her son's destiny led her to dabble in wangol and Mutric magic.
Jeanlu (491-517 MC)
This voor was recognized by the brood as a charmist, a highly telepathic shaper of stalk charms. She was revered by the brood but lived in self-exile after the murder of her family by the Masseboth (509 MC). Her desperation to avenge the death of her parents motivated her to risk her sanity by mounting kha sufficient to birth Dai Bodatta, the fabled "kill-ing voor." That awesome psychic effort ravaged her etheric field and inevitably resulted in her early darktime death. Her selection of Sumner Kagan for her mate was apparently a choice made because of his perfect genetic status rather than an awareness of his aspect as eth. Though, with a timeloose consciousness like Jeanlu, nothing is certain.
Corby (513-533 MC)
Dai Bodatta, the voor-child of Jeanlu the charmist and Sumner Kagan. Perhaps the most powerful voor ever to be incarnated on earth, Corby retained his human form for only the first five years of his life and functioned for the next twelve years from Iz, using first the charred remains of his body and then the lusked body of his father to ground his psynergy. He had been "called" into form by his mother for a specific mission: to end the torment of voors under the cruel domination of the Masseboth. Early on, though, Corby real-ized that the Masseboth were merely the minions of another, more powerful and evil force—the Delph's fear. As a godmind-entity, Corby understood that the Delph was humanity's soul, and the Delph's fear was itself the terror inherent in life, the withholdance in every organism confronted by the unknown. Comprehending so much more than those around him apprehended, Dai Bodatta was forced to live his whole life manipulatively. By the end of his temporal existence, however, his strategies had promoted his host/father, Sumner Kagan, into the position where the Delph could be destroyed. How Kagan fulfilled his remarkable son's mandate reveals the profound compassion of the "killing voor's" timeloose foresight.

Bonescrolls (2064-3331 kro)
An unplanned yawp born without license in Mexico City's genefab boro; he was named Rois by his mother, a second generation service-yawp. At eight months, he was transferred to a research unit in Guadalajara where intelligence-amplifi-cation experiments made him one of the first truly self-aware yawps. He was believed killed during the world-chaos of that period, and for twenty-two years he worked incognito as a service-yawp in CIRCLE. After the Delph's emergence, Rois wandered the planet, acquiring knowledge and advancing the confederation of intelligent yawps. Around 2700 kro, after a dangerous and labyrinthine life as a wanderer and hero for the yawps, he founded Sarina, an advanced yawp community, and retired to the desert of Skylonda Aptos. At this time he took the name Bonescrolls and a new body, a human one, within which to live as an anchorite, unrecognized and alone. At the end of a long life endowed with trans-species memories and a magical telepathy, Bonescrolls was metaordered to help Sumner Kagan confront himself as the eth. He spent his last year aware of his impending death at the hands of a killer ort, yet he was unhindered in his transmission of One Mind to his final student.
