Professor Volodymyr Shayan is an ardent supporter and follower of the thinker Skovoroda - the author of the book "Hryhoriy Skovoroda - Knight of the Holy Battle". His work is a model of an approach to philosophy, as primarily a science about man, colored by a personal original view of the wisdom of Skovoroda. V. Shayan illuminated all aspects of the work of Gr. Sav., but did it not by methodical sorting through facts, but by emotional reflections on the fate of Ukrainians. And the work was written in the most difficult years for Europe, and for V. Shayan himself - during the occupation, during the Second World War. Obviously, it was not in vain that the philosopher turned to Gr. Skovoroda for confirmation of his thoughts. And this was at a time when humanity was more thinking about saving their own lives in the crucible of war.
