Если попросить детей поразмышлять о том, как они осознают свои знания, мы можем существенно расширить свое понимание мира. Даже единственный учебный курс – назовем его «Человеческий мозг: руководство пользователя» – может оказать огромное влияние.
Никакое подобное руководство не даст нам память, позволяющую извлекать квадратный корень в голове, но многие наши когнитивные огрехи исправимы: мы можем научиться более взвешенно рассматривать факты, реагировать на предвзятость умозаключений, строить планы и принимать решения такими способами, которые больше соответствуют нашим собственным долгосрочным целям. Если мы сделаем это – если мы научимся понимать наши ограничения и обращаться к ним напрямую, – мы можем перехитрить наш клудж.
