Аннотация

Tiger Mann, master of counterespionage, is presented with one of his most frightening challenges: it is up to him to avert the imminent destruction of our defense system.
The engineer who supervised the installation of our special electronic alert system — the one which can activate our ICBM’s at the push of a button — has disappeared, taking with him the secret of the device he created: a method to by-pass the push buttons, activate the ICBM’s whenever he likes — and render the regular system inoperative.
The Communists are more than anxious to discover the workings of the by-pass control, and Tiger is equally anxious to see that they don’t. But to prevent them, Tiger has to find the missing man before they do. The search leads to death, danger, and romance — in the exciting tradition for which Spillane is famous.
