Editor’s Preface

In late summer of 1999, I first encountered the text version of this collecton of esoteric materials. As I began to read the files, I realized that this was a very important work from all over the world, and I had run onto the earliest collection of Online Magical texts that ever existed. The more I read, the more that I wanted to take the texts and add pictures and embellish the works until it shined like the jewel that they were. I began working the redressing of the work which was a slow and arduouos task at that time as I had just started a new job earlier that year and the only time I had was after I came home in the evening and on week-ends between shopping and taking care of other business.

I was nearing completion of the third segment when Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005 and I lost everything including all of the finished files and raw text files. As I began to sort through some of the data on CD-ROM diskes, I found some of the text files that had been backed-up, however, some of them were not in good shape as the disks were damaged from the flood waters.

I began a search for the raw data again in 2006 for the raw text files and after a year of searching I finally found them at Sacred-texts.com (http://www.sacred-texts.com/), and I downloaded them. However, these files seemed to be imcomplete. I did an exhaustive search of the Internet to try to find the original set of files that I had not been able of finish from 1999, and I finally found them in an obscure section of the internet. I downloaded them and added the site to my favorites, however, when I tried to return to the site a few months later, I found that the site was no longer available. I, also, had downloaded the files from the Sacred Texts web-site and hoped that I managed to get everything.

After I resumed work on the files, my workload suddenly went from a forty hour work week to a fifty hour one. Again, I found myself at a loss for time to work on re-dressing the files. It wasn’t until January of 2010 that I found myself with extra time, but found it hard to concentrate because of the distractions in my apartment complex.

I finally decided to return to New Orleans in 2013, and the first project I began was the re-format of the files. I had a new and faster computer with MS Office 10 installed. That was nearly eight month’s ago and I see the completion of the files within a few weeks.

Over the years, as a programmer, computer operator, and all round information analyst, I have been asked to write and/or edit various documents andinstruction manuals for a number of computer departments. I felt that I could put my skills as a prolific manual writer and editor to good use in bringing the embellishments to this Book of Shadows.
