Аннотация

Racing, and feeling a powerful engine roaring under his feet, is all that ever mattered to Mikey. Working as a mechanic, the young man is dreaming of saving enough money to buy a ride decent enough to start competing.

But one day, while he’s fixing a leak under a car and the jack stand breaks, it’s more than his skull that gets crushed. Unable to use his right side anymore, he finds he can’t drive as well as he used to. He’ll never become a pro racer. Soon, he plunges into despair and tries to end his life the only way he knows how: by taking his doctor’s Lancer on the ultimate joy ride and going in a blaze of glory.

Mikey speeds through the streets and is soon chased by the police. Yet, even with one functional hand, he manages to ridicule the cops. That little stunt—which gets on the news and is broadcasted to the entire country—will draw the attention of people who run an underground virtual world for individuals with peculiar skills. Those mysterious people will give Mikey the opportunity to join this no man’s land where there are no limits and where he’d no longer be disabled. In short, they offer him a new hope to accomplish his dream of racing.

But first, Mikey has to earn his ticket by winning the trials.
