These notes do not teach how to learn about the 18th-century elderly sage Skovoroda - that is a personal matter for everyone - it is a simple desire to share my thoughts with the admirers of Hryhoriy Savych.
It's been 200 years since Skovoroda's thoughts began to live on their own among Ukrainians. The path of Skovoroda's thought can only be imagined by the number of his handwritten treatises. The painstaking work of local historians has only begun in our time.
But scientific works do not obscure the need for living testimonies and people's judgements. A person should not be left alone with his thoughts, especially if these thoughts are about the psychologist Skovoroda.
Because Skovoroda is, first and foremost, a teacher of the "mirth of the heart", and this led him along the paths of his life. Hryhorii Savych had a circle of like-minded students with whom he shared his innermost thoughts and to whom he addressed his treatises. "I will be very happy if this book serves to banish only a few days of boredom, but I will be happy if it contributes to at least a drop of inner peace." Skovoroda wrote his treatises for his friends, and he was not indifferent to which hands they fell into, and now, more than two centuries later, his circle of friends has grown a thousandfold to the extent of the whole of Ukraine.
